1. A preform transfer device that transfers a plurality of preforms that have been produced by injection molding performed in an injection molding station to a subsequent station, the preform transfer device comprising:
a base board that is reciprocated between a receiving position at which the plurality of preforms are received, and a position at which the plurality of preforms are transferred; a stationary plate that is secured on the base board; a movable plate that is movably provided to the base board, the movable plate being disposed adjacently to the stationary plate in an identical horizontal plane so that a gap between the movable plate and the stationary plate can be changed; a plurality of preform holders that are provided to the stationary plate and the movable plate, and respectively hold the plurality of preforms; and a gap change driving section that changes the gap so that a first gap when the plurality of preforms are received differs from a second gap when the plurality of preforms are transferred.
