The present invention relates to a radiographic imaging apparatus, and a control method thereof which acquires a radiographic image desired by a user while minimizing an exposure dosage of a target body in accordance with an area of the target body. The radiographic imaging apparatus comprises: a radiation emission unit to emit radiation to the target body; a radiation detection unit to detect a strength of radiation penetrating through the target body; and a mounting unit on which the target body is mounted. If a change value of the radiation strength is greater than or equal to a threshold value, at least one among a moving speed of the mounting unit and a radiation emission area of the radiation emission unit is changed in accordance with a change in value.
