1. A method of generating a pulse-width modulated signal from an input signal, the method comprising:
calculating a finite plurality of basis functions of a first pulse-width modulated signal based on the input signal, wherein the finite plurality of basis functions represents a frequency band limited approximation of the first pulse-width modulated signal; forming an electronic output signal based on the calculated finite plurality of basis functions, wherein forming the electronic output signal comprises performing a digital-to-analog conversion on the calculated finite plurality of basis functions to obtain a first analog output signal; applying the first analog output signal to a first input of a mixer; applying a carrier signal to a second input of the mixer; and obtaining a modulated signal at an output of the mixer, whereby a lower oversampling ratio allows for power savings in systems.
