The invention relates to the production and use of a petroleum asphaltene handler additive which, when added to heavy oil, causes asphaltenes to remain in suspension or dissolve, producing a viscosity reduction effect that prevents the formation by precipitation of asphaltene aggregates in oil wells and storage tanks, as well as preventing the obstruction of ducts. The molecular binding of the components of this additive composition is such that the final liquid may be miscible in any type of oil. Solubility models exist that use different methods for handling asphaltenes; some using solvents that cause problems with the physical and chemical stability of the oil, while others, such as those using steam or heat, provide a temporary solution since the oil ultimately returns to the initial conditions thereof owing to the use of reversible processes. |
