Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for providing a CAPTCHA using a touch screen. The apparatus for providing a CAPTCHA using a touch screen according to the present invention comprises: a CAPTCHA image display unit which obtains a CAPTCHA image generated by converting verification pattern data, generated in and received from an authentication server, into an image form, and displays the CAPTCHA image for a user via a terminal device; an input image acquisition unit which acquires an input image drawn by the user along the CAPTCHA image identical to the converted image displayed on a client device; and a pattern data comparison unit which converts the input image into input pattern data, compares the input pattern data and the verification pattern data, and transfers a generated result to the authentication server. |
