PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage unit and heat storage system that can efficiently store the heat of a heat transport medium.SOLUTION: Provided is a heat storage unit (5) characterized by including a heat storage portion (1) composed of a first material comprising a strongly correlated electron system material, and a heat conduction portion (3) composed of a second material having a thermal conductivity greater than the first material and is in contact with the heat storage portion. The heat storage unit preferably has a laminate structure having the heat storage portion and the heat conduction portion laminated alternately.
