PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjustment of a skirt guard gap in a passenger conveyor which can perform an adjustment of a gap between a skirt guard and a footstep with a good efficiency, and a gap adjustment jig used for the method.SOLUTION: According to a method for adjustment of a gap of a skirt guard 24 of an escalator 10, a part of plural footsteps 22 is removed from a body part 30 thereby providing a footstep opening 22a, a skirt guard 24 exposed in the opening is removed from bearing members 44a, 44b, a gap adjustment jig 60, which has a width less than that of the skirt guard 24, is attached to the bearing members 44a, 44b, and a gap between the gap adjustment jig 60 and the footstep 22 is measured. The gap adjustment jig 60 is removed from the bearing members 44a, 44b and is attached to the skirt guard 24 when the measured value falls within a prescribed range. Connection parts 46, 48 are loosened to adjust positions of the bearing members 44a, 44b and a gap between the gap adjustment jig 60 and the footstep 22 is measured when the measured value is out of the prescribed range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
