The present invention relates to a cracked gas monitoring apparatus for a gas insulation switchgear. The cracked gas monitoring apparatus minimizes workforce requirements and cost consumed to monitor and manage insulation gas in the gas insulation switchgear in an electric power substation. According to the present invention, the cracked gas monitoring apparatus for the gas insulation switchgear includes: a cracked gas sensor which is installed in the gas insulation switchgear to output an electrical signal proportional to the amount of cracked gas within the gas insulation switchgear; a processor which compares a detected value of the cracked gas amount in accordance with the electrical signal provided by the cracked gas sensor with a predetermined reference value and determines whether the cracked gas amount reaches a warning level or not; and a warning unit which outputs a warning in accordance with a control signal from the processor when the cracked gas amount reaches the alert level. |
