PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical centrifugal pump capable of preventing a rotation failure due to heat denaturation of protein, and an artificial auxiliary heart.SOLUTION: A medical centrifugal pump 1 includes a rotation shaft 2, a pump base body 4 having a drive part 3 for rotating the rotation shaft 2, a housing 5 having an inlet I and an outlet O and forming a pump chamber C into which body fluid sucked from the inlet I flows with the pump base body 4, and an impeller 6 accommodated in the pump chamber C with the rotation shaft 2 as an axis. The pump base body 4 has a magnetic generating source. The rotation shaft 2 projects from the pump base body 4 to the pump chamber C and is pivotally supported by the pump base body 4 in a rotatable manner. A magnetic fluid 7 is arranged at least in one place of the spaces formed between the pump base body 4, the rotation shaft 2, and the impeller 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
