PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the suction pressure of a feed-water pump to a pressure so that the feed-water pump is operable.SOLUTION: A boiler 1 comprises: a condensate pump (a condensate pump 18, a preliminary condensate pump 19); a branch line 31 branching water fed by the condensate pump; a drum (low-pressure drum 11) which is connected to one line (low-pressure branch line 31a) branching off from the branch line 31; and a feed-water pump 20 which is connected to the other line (high-pressure branch line 31b) branching off from the branch line 31 and which delivers the water to an evaporator (high-pressure evaporator 16), and comprises pressure-application means for introducing part of the water in the drum to the feed-water pump 20 when a suction pressure on an inlet of the feed-water pump 20 is lower than a prescribed pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
