PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat recovery device capable of restricting a narrow state in an exhaust pipe by ice blocks.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an exhaust heat recovery device 1 including a main exhaust passage 4 where exhaust gas flows, a bypass passage 5 for bypassing a part of the main exhaust passage 4, a heat exchanger 3 installed in the bypassing passage 5 for performing a heat exchanging operation and a valve body 30 for opening or closing the main exhaust passage 4. This invention has a driving device 56 in which a rod 35 moves forward or backward due to volumetric change of a cubical expansion body when phase transition occurs due to temperature variation, a shaft 27 of the valve body is rotated through moving-forward or moving-backward motion of the rod 35 of the driving device 56, at least a part of the cubical expansion body shows phase transition when a heat exchanging medium shows the first prescribed temperature or higher and when surrounding atmosphere temperature shows the second prescribed temperature or lower and then the valve body 30 is rotated in the opening direction thereof due to volumetric change.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
