PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of being controlled by gesture such as swinging of a hand.SOLUTION: An air conditioner controllable by gesture, includes a distance measurement sensor (DMS) 101 for detecting gesture and continuation of the gesture with a distance, by measuring the distance as a signal. The air conditioner further includes a microprocessor for processing the signal, and an LED for displaying the detection of the gesture. The microprocessor determines whether the correct signal is detected or not on the basis of an output signal generated by the DMS 101. The correct signal gives a command for switching on or off the air conditioner according to the present situation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
