PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a touch operation by an individual input device when the touch operation is performed.SOLUTION: A touch panel system includes: an electronic pen 50; and a touch panel 100. In the touch panel 100, the touch sensor 20 detects a touch position touched by the electronic pen 50. A signal control device 8 transmits a reference signal 65 indicating a reference timing to the electronic pen 50 which has touched the touch panel, and controls the touch sensor 20 to receive a response signal from the electronic pen 50. In the electronic pen 50, a reception electrode 51 receives the reference signal 65 from the touch panel 100. A timing generation circuit 54 generates a response signal having the delay period of a predetermined value from the reference timing. A transmission electrode 52 transmits a detection pulse 66 via the touch sensor 20 to the touch panel 100. The signal control device 8 identifies the electronic pen 50 which has touched the touch panel on the basis of the delay period of the response signal received from each electronic pen 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
