PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device capable of avoiding a collision with a falling object without reducing productivity.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device comprises: a sheet feeding part 5 which has a hoistway 23 where a sheet 3 rises, and feeds the sheet 3 to a sheet printer 2 (a sheet processing device); an entry opening 15 for allowing entry of the sheet feeding part 5 including the hoistway 23 into an internal space S; a fall prevention member 33 put in and taken out from an intermediate part 23b between an upper region 23c and a lower region 23a of the hoistway 23; a fall prevention member drive device 26 for moving the fall prevention member 33 between an actuation position in the hoistway 23 and a retreat position retreating from the hoistway 23; first detection means 51 for detecting the position of the fall prevention member 33; second detection means 52 for detecting an object passing through the entry opening; and a control device which disables the operation of the sheet feeding part 5 when the second detection means 52 detects the object in a state where the fall prevention member 33 is not positioned at the actuation position, and enables the operation of the sheet feeding part 5 in a state where the fall prevention member 33 is positioned at the actuation position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
