PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide member capable of improving slidability and durability of a slide surface while ensuring strength of a sintered body.SOLUTION: A slide member 1 is formed with a sintered body. The sintered body comprises: a base layer 3 that mainly comprises an Fe-based structure, and contains 1.0-5.0 wt.% of Cu, a metal having a lower melting point than Cu, and C; a slide layer 2 that is sintered together with the base layer in a state of contacting with the base layer 3, and has a slide surface A. The slide layer 2 mainly comprises an Fe-based structure containing at least one alloy element selected from among Ni, Mo, Mn and Cr, and further contains Cu, a metal having a lower melting point than Cu, and C.
