PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress a photoreceptor drum from being stained with developer and suppress unnecessary consumption of developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (color printer 1) includes: a main body 10; a photoreceptor drum 52; a developing cartridge 60 that has a developing roller 61 and can be attached to the main body 10; a switching mechanism 200 that switches between a contact state where the photoreceptor drum 52 and developing roller 61 are in contact with each other to enable supply of a developer and a separation state where the photoreceptor drum 52 and developing roller 61 are separated from each other to interrupt the supply of a developer; and a control device 100 that executes a preparation mode of preparing to form a developer image on the photoreceptor drum 52 and transfer the image to a transfer target body. The control device 100 executes an operation of rotating the developing roller 61 while maintaining the separation state during the execution of the preparation mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
