PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that can stabilize image density while suppressing scattering of developer on the downstream side of a developing area, and an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge including the developing device.SOLUTION: There is provided a developing device 40 including a developing roller 45, a casing body 121 and a gap forming member 112 that have a developing roller 45 exposed from an opening 51, and a developing bias power source 141. A casing gap area in which the developing roller 45 on the downstream side in a surface movement direction of the developing roller 45 with respect to the developing area is in proximity with a developing casing is configured so that a developer carried on the developing roller 45 makes contact with an opposing surface of the developing casing. The gap forming member 112 in the developing casing is formed of a conductive material and includes an insulating layer 123 on an opposing surface of the gap forming member 112 in a portion with which the developer on the surface of the developing roller 45 makes contact in the casing gap area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
