A power factor correction circuit of a proposed embodiment includes: a coupled inductor comprising a first inductor provided at an input side and a second inductor provided at an output side; a boost inductor which is connected to the first inductor, and stores energy; a switching device which is connected to the boost inductor, and performs switching turn-on and turn-off operation; a first snubber diode and a second snubber diode to provide a path of a current flowing in the boost inductor, by the operation of the switching device; a first snubber capacitor connected between the first snubber diode and the second snubber diode; a second snubber capacitor provided between the first and the second inductor; and an output diode connected to an output of the second inductor. The power factor correction apparatus of the present invention can maintain the advantage of CrM capable of reducing switching loss by performing switching when an inductor current is 0, while maintaining the advantage of CCM which is advantageous in EMI aspect, while having a low current peak and ripple and small harmonic distortion. |
