PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact device that is usable irrespective of current flowing direction and can enhance the reliability of cutoff performance.SOLUTION: A magnetic field generating source comprises a permanent magnet 71 which has a first magnetic pole face 711 and a second magnetic pole face 712 having opposite polarities and arranged so that the first magnetic pole face 711 faces a movable contact 32 in a second direction (right-and-left direction). A yoke 13 has a pair of side plates 131, 132 which face each other through the movable contact 32 in a third direction (front-and-rear direction) perpendicular to both a first direction and the second direction, and a joint plate 133 for joining the pair of side plates 131, 132. The joint plate 133 is disposed at such a position as to face the movable contact 32 through the permanent magnet 71 in the second direction, and magnetically coupled to the second magnetic pole face 712 of the permanent magnet 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
