PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which can reduce sticking without reducing printing quality.SOLUTION: A thermal printer 1 comprises: a thermal head 21 for performing printing on a sheet with heat; a thermal head driving circuit 31 which applies energy to the thermal head 21; and an MCU 36 which determines whether print data is rule marks or graphic printing, controls the thermal head driving circuit 31 so as to reduce energy applied to the thermal head 21 when determining that the print data is the rule marks, and controls the thermal head driving circuit 31 so as to maintain energy applied to the thermal head 21 when determining that the print data is the graphic printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
