PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for appropriately setting a strength stage of watermark embedding, without depending on an algorithm for performing digital watermark embedding/detection, in using such an image processing program in accordance with each of images.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of calculating an index value of complexity in a nearby region of each of pixels within a watermark embedding region of a target digital gradation image; calculating a cumulative histogram over an embedding region of the index value of complexity; and determining an optimal value of the strength stage of watermark embedding on the basis of the cumulative histogram.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
