PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector with which an electrical card can be prevented from being scratched and worn by contacts of the card connector.SOLUTION: The card connector comprises a base and a plurality of contacts positioned on the base. Each of the contacts has: a contacting portion configured for electrically contacting an electrical card inserted into the card connector; and a supporting portion having two elastic arms that extend from the base and intersect at the contacting portion. Each of the elastic arms has a guide arm portion extending to the contacting portion. Each of the guide arm portions defines an angle of greater than 0° and smaller than 90° with respect to a card insertion direction in which the electrical card is inserted. The two guide arm portions of each contact are positioned on two opposite sides of a plane extending perpendicular to the card insertion direction and passing through the contacting portion of the contact. Each of the guide arm portions has a smooth, ridge-shaped convex surface formed thereon, the convex surface extending to the contacting portion and forming a smooth transitional part on an outer facing surface of the contacting portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
