PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission device that can be increased in light emission amount.SOLUTION: A light emission device 10 has a container member 1 having therein a discharge space S, the container member 1 being formed by a package 2 having a concave portion 2b serving as the discharge space therein and a light transmissible member 3 which is joined to the package 2 so as to block the concave portion 2b, inert gas 6 sealed in the discharge space S, and a pair of discharge electrodes 4 which are provided to confronting side walls 2a of the package 2, and have confronting portions 4b which are arranged to confront each other. The light reflectivity of the joint portion 2e of the package 2 to the light transmissible member 3 is set to be higher than the light reflectivity of a side surface portion 2f exposed to the outside in the package 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
