PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication state diagnostic device and communication state diagnostic method for an elevator, which are capable of quantitatively diagnosing voice communication between a monitoring device side call device and a monitoring center by VoIP when a monitoring device is installed in an elevator.SOLUTION: A communication state diagnostic device for an elevator 1 according to the present invention diagnoses the communication state of an IP communication network in a remote monitoring system 100, comprises: a remote monitoring device measuring unit 2A and a monitoring center measuring unit 34 for measuring the communication band of the IP communication network and packet fluctuation when a remote monitoring device 2 is installed; and a determination unit 35 for determining availability of a voice communication between an intercom 4 at the elevator 1 side and a communication device 33 in a monitoring center 3 by VoIP on the basis of the communication band of the IP communication network and the packet fluctuation measured by the remote monitoring device measuring unit 2A and monitoring center measuring unit 34.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
