PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support position designation of an ellipse in an ultrasonic image processor which measures the circumferential length of the ellipse designated on an ultrasonic image.SOLUTION: When measurement of the circumferential length (abdominal circumferential length of an unborn child) on an ultrasonic image 50 is started, a first movement marker 60 for designating a long axis start point of a measurement object ellipse is displayed. A second movement marker 62 for designating a long axis terminal point of the measurement object ellipse and a standard range display diagram are displayed after designation of the long axis start point. The standard range display diagram uses the long axis start point and the second movement marker as the long axis or short axis and consists of two ellipses 56, 58 with the circumferential lengths as the lower limit and the upper limit of the abdominal circumferential length. A user can designate the long axis terminal point while recognizing the physical relation between the standard range display diagram and the contour of the abdominal cross section and also designate the short axis end of the measurement object ellipse with the standard range diagram as a reference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
