PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device that allows neighborhood monitoring and remote monitoring with reduced manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle radar device 11 comprises a transmission antenna section for sending a transmission wave, a receiving antenna section for receiving a reflected wave resulting from the transmission wave, and a controller 34 for controlling the transmission antenna section and the receiving antenna section. The transmission antenna section can send a first transmission wave having a wide radiation range and a second transmission wave having a narrow radiation range. The receiving antenna section includes a plurality of receiving antennas aligned in a lateral direction. The number of the plurality of receiving antennas is three or more. The controller operates in a neighborhood monitoring mode with a low azimuth resolution and a wide effective detection azimuth range and in a remote monitoring mode with a high azimuth resolution and a narrow effective detection azimuth range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
