PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an increase of transmission distance of wavelength multi-light.SOLUTION: A light amplifier 2 that amplifies input wavelength multi-light comprises: an excitation light part 26 that outputs excitation light; a light amplifying part 25 that amplifies the wavelength multi-light according to the power level of the excitation light. The wavelength multi-light has the number of wavelengths smaller than the maximum number of wavelengths input to the light amplifier 2.
