PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism with which it is possible to display characters so as to be seen at equal intervals even when a fixed-width font cannot be used.SOLUTION: The present invention is an information processing device capable of displaying a character, the information processing device being characterized by having: virtual space setting means for setting a virtual space that is an area in which the character is displayed; a display character placement unit which, when a character string to be displayed consists of half-width characters, places the half-width character at center of the virtual space, and which, when the character string to be displayed consists of full-width characters, places the full-width character at center of two virtual spaces combined; and a display control unit for displaying the character placed by the display character placement unit so as to fit in the virtual space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
