PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel battery that has excellent output maintenance performance.SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly 11 for a fuel battery has a polymer electrolytic membrane 111 having an uneven portion 2 provided on at least one principal surface, and catalytic layers 112, 113 which are provided to both the principal surfaces of the polymer electrolytic membrane 111 and contain polymer material having ion conduction. The catalytic layers 112, 113 contain first catalytic layers 1121, 1131 which are provided on the surfaces of the uneven portions 2, and have groove portions 3 provided to the outer principal surfaces at the opposite side to the polymer electrolytic membrane 111, and second catalytic layers 1122, 1132 which are provided to the surfaces of the first catalytic layers so that the groove portions 3 are filled with the second catalytic layers 1122, 1132, and have a lower percentage content of the polymer material than the first catalytic layers 1121, 1131.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
