PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods for optically reading a setting of an implantable valve.SOLUTION: A valve 102 comprises: a hermetic biocompatible housing 106; a fluid inlet port 108; a fluid outlet port 110; and a restriction element 112 between the inlet port 108 and the outlet port 110 for restricting fluid transport. The valve 102 further comprises a control member 114 operatively coupled to the restriction element 112. The valve 102 includes optical emitters 124, 126, 128, 130 that are wirelessly powered by a valve reading tool 132 that images emitted light to determine a valve setting.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
