PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct misalignment of a sensor for detecting a component holder (a nozzle) to position the sensor in a desired position in a component holding head of a surface mounting machine.SOLUTION: A component holding head of a surface mounting machine includes: a spindle 41; and a lifting member for moving up or down the spindle 41 in a Z direction along an axial direction. A component holder 42 is attached to a lower end of the spindle 41. In the component holding head of the surface mounting machine, a sensor 30 for detecting the component holder 42 is connected with the lifting member through a position adjustment mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
