PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit capable of easily adjusting the polarization of output light in a wide band.SOLUTION: A light source unit 1 includes: SLD light sources 11 to 13; polarization controllers 21 to 23; multiplexing units 31, 32; a polarization beam splitter 41; a WDM coupler 51; a photo diodes 71, 72; and a control unit 80. Based on detected values of individual wavelength components detected by the photo diodes 71, 72, the control unit 80 controls polarization adjustment in each of the polarization controllers 21 to 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
