PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an osteosynthesis instrument which can securely bond a broken bone while suppressing damage to the bone.SOLUTION: An osteosynthesis instrument 1 of the invention, which is used to bond the bone pieces of a broken bone 19 together, includes: a tapered member 4, on the outer peripheral surface of which five inclined planes 9 are formed; a rod 6 screwed into the tapered member 4; and an expanding member 8 consisting of five touching parts 12 and a bridging part 13 for connecting the touching parts 12. When the osteosynthesis instrument 1 is inserted into an installation hole 2 formed in the broken bone 19, the touching parts 12 and connection parts 13b of the bridging part 13 of the expanding member 8 are pushed against an inner peripheral surface 7 of the installation hole 2. In this state, the tapered member 4 moves to the opening side of the installation hole 2, and therefore the touching parts 12 are pushed to the side of the inner peripheral surface 7 of the installation hole 2 by the inclined planes 9 of the tapered member 4, and then the outer peripheral surfaces 15 of the touching parts 12 are pushed against the inner peripheral surface 7 of the installation hole 2 in a surface contact state to fix the touching parts 12 to the inner peripheral surface 7 of the installation hole 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
