PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of improving exhaust gas purification performance while reducing use of platinum.SOLUTION: There is provided an exhaust gas purification catalyst which comprises a first catalyst obtained by carrying copper on a cerium-containing oxide and a second catalyst obtained by carrying platinum on alumina, wherein the carrying ratio of copper is set to 0.75 mass% or more relative to the sum of the first catalyst and the second catalyst and the carrying ratio of platinum is set to less than 1 mass% relative to the sum of the first catalyst and the second catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None
