PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for improving safety in a motor drive device having an STO function.SOLUTION: A motor drive device comprises: an inverter unit 41 with a switching element; an arithmetic operation unit 30 that outputs a drive signal to the switching element; a drive signal interruption unit 50; and an abnormality detector 43. When determining that a motor is in an abnormal state, the abnormality detector outputs an abnormality signal S43 to the arithmetic operation unit and/or the drive signal interruption unit. When receiving an emergency stop signal and/or the abnormality signal, the drive signal interruption unit blocks a signal line for the drive signal between the arithmetic operation unit and the inverter unit. When receiving the emergency stop signal S20 and/or the abnormality signal, the arithmetic operation unit stops outputting the drive signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
