PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing degradation of productivity due to warpage of a lifting plate.SOLUTION: A pickup roller 154 is arranged over a lifting plate 201 made of a material having flexibility, and delivers the sheet by contacting an upper face of a sheet placed on the lifting plate 201. A delay amount obtaining part 501 obtains a delay amount on delivering of the sheet contacting the pickup roller when the pickup roller 154 starts driving. A delivering timing correcting section 502 corrects a delivering start timing of a sheet delivered next by the pickup roller 154 on the basis of the delay amount obtained by the delay amount obtaining part 501.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
