PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the occurrence of an image defect or the like by prolonging an electrification time before a job after reattachment, when there is a history of the attachment failure of a process cartridge.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a process cartridge 37 which includes at least a photoreceptive drum 20 and is attachable to and detachable from an apparatus body and an electrifying roller 40 which can electrify the surface of the photoreceptive drum 20, in the attachment state of the cartridge 37. The image forming apparatus includes electrification bias output means (28 and 29) for outputting an electrification bias to the electrifying roller 40 and an initial driving circuit 39 which rotationally drives the photoreceptive drum 20, while applying the electrification bias to the electrifying roller 40, after the attachment of the cartridge 37. Further, the image forming apparatus includes an engine controller 100 which performs control so as to change an initial drive time by the initial driving circuit 39, when the process cartridge 37 is reattached after the failure of attachment to the apparatus body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
