PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress separation discharge when a recording material passed through a transfer nip formed by an image carrier and transfer means separates from the image carrier and transfer means compared with a prior art.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus 100 including: a discharge needle holder 15 that is arranged downstream in a recording material conveyance direction L of a transfer nip, has the leading end arranged closer to a transfer roller 5 than a virtual extension line Pa, and separates a recording material P from the transfer roller 5; a high resistance part 15b that is arranged downstream in the recording material conveyance direction L of the nip, has the leading end arranged closer to the transfer roller 5 than the virtual extension line P, and holds the discharge needle holder 15 from above; a low resistance part 15a that is arranged downstream in the recording material conveyance direction L of the nip, has the leading end arranged closer to a photoreceptor drum 1 than the virtual extension line Pa, has an electric resistance value lower than that of the high resistance part 15b, and holds the high resistance part 15b from above; and a discharge device 14 that applies, to the discharge needle holder 15, a direct voltage having a polarity reverse to that of a voltage to be applied to the transfer roller 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
