To provide a power transmission device (2) that performs determination relating to power supply in the case of transmitting power in a non-contact manner to a power reception device (3). The power transmission device (2) is provided with: a power converter (10) that converts power transmitted from a power supply into first direct current power; an inverter circuit (11) that converts the first direct current power into first alternating current power; a power transmission-side pad (12) that has a power transmission coil, which generates a magnetic field on the basis of the first alternating current power, and which magnetically couples to a power reception coil of the power reception device; a sensor (13) that detects the current value and the voltage value of the first direct current power; and a controller (15) that controls the power converter. The controller (15) controls the power converter such that the voltage of the first direct current power increases to a first voltage value that is lower than a predetermined power supply voltage value, and determines whether the power reception device (3) can be supplied with power on the basis of the current value of the first direct current power when the voltage of the first direct current power is at the first voltage value. |
