The present invention addresses the problem of minimizing damage to books in a book handling device and simplifying, as much as possible, the equipment configuration of book handling devices. A book handling device (10) is provided with: multiple folders (210) for book storage that can store books (200); a storage unit (30) that can store the folders (210) for book storage when the folders (210) for book storage are respectively storing the books (200); and a picker (40) that selectively retrieves the folders (210) for book storage from the storage unit (30) and conveys the folders (210) for book storage to an external book retrieval location (P). |
