The purpose of the present invention is to provide a mirror display such that increased size can be achieved without appearing less refined. This mirror display is provided with, in order from the observation side: a half mirror plate (7) having a reflective type polarizing plate (10); a polarization converting layer (4a); and a display device (2) having an absorption type polarizing plate (8b) on the polarization converting layer (4a) side. The reflective type polarizing plate (10) has a transmission axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the display device (2) and does not have joint lines. The absorption type polarizing plate (8b) has a transmission axis orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the display device (2) and does not have joint lines. The polarization converting layer (4a) converts the polarization state for polarized light passing through the absorption type polarizing plate (8b). |
