Provided is a technique for effectively removing dust adhering to a fan. An image forming device (1) is provided with a fan (47) for cooling the inside of the body unit. When the mode is switched to a fan cleaning mode, a fan driving unit (10) drives the fan (47) so that forward and reverse rotations of the fan (47) are continued in an alternating manner to be switched multiple times, and actuates the fan (47) so as to shake the fan (47) and shake off dust and the like adhering to the fan (47). Further provided is an electric power monitoring unit (9) for monitoring electric power consumption. The fan driving unit (10) switches to the fan cleaning mode when the electric power consumption is equal to or less than a first predetermined value. Moreover, the fan driving unit (10) does not switch to the fan cleaning mode when the electric power consumption is equal to or less than a second predetermined value that is smaller than the first predetermined value. |
