The present invention addresses the problem of providing a balloon catheter which has excellent pushability upon insertion into a blood vessel, and in which the kinking of an outer shaft can be surely prevented on a rear end side relative to a guide wire port formation position, and which can be inserted smoothly even into a curved blood vessel. The balloon catheter according to the present invention is equipped with an outer shaft (10) composed of a resin tube, a balloon (30), a hub (60), an inner tube (40) and a core wire (50), wherein the rear end side of a straight portion (51) of the core wire (50) is fixed to a part of the inner peripheral surface of the outer shaft (10) wherein the part corresponds to the rear end side of a guide wire port formation position in the outer shaft (10), and the tip side of the straight portion (51) of the core wire (50) is press-fitted between the inner peripheral surface of the outer shaft (10) and the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube (40). |
