Disclosed in the present invention is a routing device management method. The logical port on a first switch chip of a primary main control unit of the routing device receives a telecommunication network (telnet) message; and the primary main control unit sends the telnet message to a line card unit of the routing device. A primary main control unit and a line card unit are also disclosed in the present invention.
