The invention relates to a refractory support layer (1) for high-temperature heat storage tanks (2), said layer (1) being formed from concrete, wherein the concrete used is concrete that has a heat conductivity of less than 1.05 W/mK and a compression resistance of more than 15 MPa, the thickness thereof being between 0.2 m and 5 m.
