Provided is Frateribacillus flavoalbus, which is a novel species of Frateribacillus and includes the following properties: 1) the microorganism is gram-negative and forms spores; 2) the microorganism is oxidase-negative, catalase-positive, and is aerobic; and 3) the microorganism does not generate acid in an LB medium (pH 8.0) containing 1% sugar and 0.2% NaCl when D-galactose or sucrose is added as the sugar, but generates acid in the LB medium when D-glucose, lactose, D-mannitol, glycerin or N-acetyl glucosamine is added as the sugar. The novel microorganism is useful for the treatment of organic waste such as human waste and sludge. |
