The objective of the present invention is to obtain a prediction-image generation device making it possible to generate an intra-prediction image using parallel processing while minimizing the circuit scale. This prediction-image generation device is provided with a storage unit 11, a selection unit 13, a prediction-pixel-generating process unit 14, and a rearrangement buffer unit 15. The storage unit 11 holds a plurality of reference pixels. The selection unit 13 selects, as required reference pixels, reference pixels used for the generation of prediction pixels in the screen on the basis of a mode number and the pixel positions. The prediction-pixel-generating process unit 14 generates a plurality of prediction pixels using parallel processing on the basis of the required reference pixels. The rearrangement buffer unit 15 rearranges (shifts), on the basis of the mode number, the plurality of prediction pixels generated by the prediction-pixel-generating processing unit 14, and generates a prediction image. |
