The invention relates to a method for the surface modification of a crumb rubber, comprising the reaction of a hypohalous acid with the crumb rubber in order to form an intermediate crumb, and the reaction of the intermediate crumb with a monoisocyanate compound bearing an optionally substituted hydrocarbon chain. The invention also relates to a modified crumb rubber that can be obtained using the method of the invention. |
