A method for determining a residual image level of a display device and a detection device. The method comprises the following steps: lighting up a display device and setting detection positions; converting the display device into a gray scale image of a set level; detecting an actual brightness value of each detection position after the conversion into the gray scale of the set level; acquiring a brightness change index for each detection position according to the acquired actual brightness value and a set correspondence between actual brightness values and theoretical brightness values of gray scales of set levels; and acquiring a residual image level of the display device on the set gray scale according to the acquired brightness change index and a set correspondence between brightness change indexes and residual image levels. By means of the method, residual image detection of a display device is facilitated, and meanwhile, the accuracy of residual image detection is improved. |
