PLUG WITH BUILT-IN OPTICAL CONNECTOR

A plug with a built-in optical connector, in which an optical connector is accommodated and retained at the front end of a barrel, and an excess-length part of an optical fiber extending from an optical cable to the optical connector is accommodated in the barrel, wherein the excess-length part is configured so as to bend in conjunction with movement of the optical connector toward the rear end of the barrel during connection with a counterpart receptacle, the distance from a retention position of the optical connector to an outline of the barrel in the direction orthogonal to the movement direction of the optical connector differs according to direction, and an inducing part for inducing the excess-length part to bend in a direction different from the direction in which the distance to the outline of the barrel is shortest is formed in the barrel. Through the present invention, the plug with a built-in optical connector can be reduced in size.
